America's rescue package

I don't believe that, as Americans, we need this government rescue package. We all saw how well TARP worked. We can save ourselves and not be slaves to wall street, and the government. How do we do this? I don't have all the answers, but I do have a few suggestions. If you have a secure job and a little extra money. Then spend some, use it on your community businesses. We have to stimulate our own local economy. In other words, any spending that we do will help the people in our communities much quicker than this government stimulus package. I know that people are scared to spend, with the housing crisis, and unemployment, but we have to help ourselves. If you need government aid then by all means use it. But it has to be a spring board, not a crutch. If your unemployed, maybe now is the time to go back to school, or start your own business. Just know that we can fix these problems in our economy. This country was built on creative thinking and the belief that we can be anything we want. As Americans we can no longer afford to be passive, we have got to take control of our lives, and our economic well being. I know this all sounds a little hypocritical coming from a guy who loads trucks. So I'll be going back to school this summer to get a degree in business.
